Deputy PM wants public discussion of connection devt set by June

MOSCOW, Apr 26 (PRIME) -- Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko has ordered the Digital Development Ministry to organize by June 1 a public discussion of a draft strategy of the connection industry development till 2035 to be submitted to the government by the end of May, Chernyshenko’s office said on Wednesday.

“The connection industry strategy is developed on orders from Russian President Vladimir Putin…The Digital Development Ministry is to work out a general goal-setting with numerically measurable SMART metrics until the middle of May. It is important to determine indicators for achieving technological sovereignty in each direction,” Chernyshenko said.

The deputy prime minister ordered the Digital Development Ministry, the Finance Ministry, and the Economic Development ministry to consider suggestions on financing the strategy.

The core goals include control over connection infrastructure sufficient to ensure national independence and sustainable development of the country as well as development of competitive, modern, and high-quality connection services for the people, business, and the state.
